Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hakan Calhanoglu admitted to feeling underrated: “Those in the Premier League have more visibility, but I’m in the European top five in my role.”
“Let’s put it this way. I am an idol for half the city and the other half hates me. The same day I hear insults from Milan fans and chants from Inter fans. This is soccer. My character helps me to get past these things. Nobody expected Inter to be so far behind. Napoli deserve to be up there and we saw that in the Champions League, but it was our fault, like last season. We would have been closer if we hadn’t lost points against Monza, Empoli, Samp and Bologna,” he told Gazzetta.
