Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso has learned “a lot” from Jose Mourinho but warns the Roma coach that there are “no friends” at the start of the game.

The former Spanish international and Mourinho will meet again tonight in a Europa League semi-final second leg at the BayArena. The Giallorossi won the second leg at the Stadio Olimpico 1-0 last week. “I love him and I have learned so much from him. It will be good to see him, but when the game starts, there will be no friends. We will need a good balance of intensity, passion and good defense. Roma is a strong team, but we can do it if we give our best in our stadium and with our fans. We are happy to have reached the semi-finals, but we want more. For a team that is not used to having these opportunities, this is a golden chance. We expect an intense game against Roma but we want to believe with our fans. Let’s hope it will be a historic night at the BayArena,” said the former midfielder in a pre-game press conference, quoted by Il Corriere dello Sport.
