AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni is satisfied with the club’s turnaround in sporting, economic and institutional terms.
The AC Milan shareholders’meeting approved the financial accounts for 2022-23, returning to net profit for the first time in 17 years. Club president Scaroni spoke at a press conference after Monday’s meeting, explaining in part the club’s plans for the future.
“When I arrived in July 2018, there was a storm. The financial results were disastrous and the sporting results mediocre. From there, we embarked on a path that took us to the Champions League and won us a Scudetto. Today, we are celebrating a net profit not seen since the Nereo Rocco era. We doubled our sales to 400 million euros. We have improved in all areas and built a competitive team with a bright future. The whole club has been very efficient. You know, sporting results influence financial results. If AC Milan qualifies for the Champions League next season, we’ll be more sustainable with substantial revenues. At that point, we could look at the market differently. If the revenues allow us to improve the contractual level and have stronger players with long-term agreements, we will do it,” he said, quoted by La Gazzetta.
