Juventus have been impressed by Weston McKennie’s development in recent months and will soon reward him with a new contract.

At one point, the American midfielder seemed destined to leave Turin after a six-month loan spell at Leeds United, but following his return to Italy, things began to change for the 25-year-old, who has now become a key figure for Massimiliano Allegri. McKennie, who started the final 18 months of his contract with Juventus, played 1,697 minutes of action in 21 games this season, providing five assists during that time. As TMW reports, Juventus will sit down with McKennie and his entourage next month, after the close of the mid-season mercato, to begin negotiating his new contract. The plan is to offer the American midfielder a new contract until 2027 with an option for a further year, and the same salary with new additions, thus confirming his future with Allegri’s team.
