Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis announced on Sunday evening that players and staff members will no longer publish pre- and post-match interviews with DAZN: “We will only talk to Sky and Rai”.
De Laurentiis briefly introduced himself to the press room at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday evening after Napoli’s victory over Juventus. Several Italian sources, including Il Corriere dello Sport, reported that Aurelio looked irritable and declared that Napoli players wouldn’t be publishing any more interviews with DAZN. “We’re done with DAZN; we’ll only talk to Sky and Rai,” said the Napoli owner. De Laurentiis was furious before kick-off when he was filmed inside the tunnel. However, according to La Repubblica, this is not the reason why De Laurentiis will no longer allow his players to talk to DAZN. On Sunday evening, according to La Repubblica, Aurelio is furious with the Italian broadcasters for scheduling a home match against Atalanta on March 30 at 11:30 GMT, the day before Easter. According to Tuttosport, however, the match has to be played on March 30 due to Atalanta’s involvement in the Europa League, while Aurelio wanted to play on April 1, so coach Francesco Calzona would have had more time to prepare for the match as he will be busy with the Slovak national team for the international break.
