Stefano Pioli stressed the need for AC Milan to “stay tense” after their 4-0 win over Napoli, believing that his team should “play at this level all the time”.
The Rossoneri stunned Luciano Spalletti’s league leaders in a 4-0 victory last weekend, the first of three meetings between the two teams in April. AC Milan and Napoli will meet in the Champions League quarterfinals later this month, games that will have much more significance. AC Milan now prepares for their next Serie A clash with Empoli, another must-win game as they look to stay in the top four. Speaking at a press conference, Pioli spoke about AC Milan’s emotions after their win over Napoli.
“It is crucial to remain tense, games are won first with attitude, determination and then with quality. We have to be humble, the championship is important for us and we have to take advantage of this round at home. I don’t have to comment on Spalletti’s words, it would be a mistake to think of Napoli. Nothing increases. The judgments are made at the end of the league and hopefully beyond for the Champions League. We have to do well these two months,” said the 57-year-old tactician .
