Juventus captain Danilo injured his ankle in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona and is expected to be out of action for 10 to 15 days.

The Brazilian defender was injured yesterday at the Stadio Bentegodi and underwent medical examinations in Turin on Sunday morning. “Following the injury sustained against Hellas Verona on Saturday February 17, Danilo underwent medical examinations at the J|Medical on Sunday morning. The tests ruled out any ligament damage or fracture of the left ankle, and the player has begun the rehabilitation process. He will continue to be assessed on a day-to-day basis,” Juventus said in an official statement. Soccer Italia understands that the Brazilian defender will remain out of action for 10 to 15 days. This means he’s likely to miss the next home match against Frosinone on February 25 and will be assessed for an away clash at the Stadio Maradona against Napoli on March 3. Danilo was appointed Juventus captain following the departure of Leonardo Bonucci last summer. A former Real Madrid and Manchester City defender, Danilo has one goal and three assists to his name in 20 appearances in all competitions this season. His contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2025.
