Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has undergone a new series of medical tests, confirming the presence of a right calf injury.
The 24-year-old center-back was forced to withdraw from Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad last week after suffering a calf problem during training at Coverciano. He returned to the Nerazzurri, missing both Euro qualifiers. Inter currently hold a slender two-point lead over Juventus at the top of the Serie A standings and have a tense few weeks ahead of them against their rivals before heading south to face Walter Mazzarri’s Napoli. In between, they face Benfica in the Champions League. As reported by Calciomercato.com, Bastoni’s medical tests today confirmed the presence of a right calf injury, which will rule him out of the next two games against Juventus and Benfica. Inter hope to have him back in time for the Napoli clash on December 3. Should he fail to recover in time for the trip to Campania, he could return on December 9 against Udinese.
