Former defender Andrea Barzagli gave his opinion on Juventus’s state this season, Massimiliano Allegri’s work and their title race with Inter.
The Bianconeri are not taking part in European competitions this season, following their settlement agreement with UEFA, allowing them to concentrate on the league. Juventus are currently two points behind league leaders Inter. Allegri’s team have eight wins and two draws, with just one defeat. Speaking to La Stampa via TuttoJuve, Barzagli spoke of Juventus’s solid defensive work this season. “We have to keep our defensive DNA. We come from a great history of not conceding goals. Juve defend well as a team, the wingers make the difference and then there’s Locatelli, who’s always in the right place. Juve scored a lot of points, perhaps more than we would have expected. Inter are stronger because they have a quality team, they only conceded six goals and scored several,” he declared.
