AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani congratulates Inter on winning the title and insists that Gerry Cardinale will eventually make a decision for Stefano Pioli.
The Rossoneri lost 2-1 to city rivals Inter on Monday, seeing the Nerazzurri celebrate their 20th Serie A title. Inter had won the last six meetings with their city rivals and the Rossoneri were clearly disappointed after the final whistle. Coach Pioli published a post-match interview with DAZN, but did not attend the post-match press conference, unlike his counterpart Simone Inzaghi. Several sources in Italy claim that AC Milan will part company with Pioli at the end of the season, but Furlani said a decision on the Rossoneri boss isn’t imminent. “The coach is Stefano Pioli. We are concentrating on the end of the season. Moncada, Ibrahimovic and I report to Gerry Cardinale, who makes the final decision. First of all, congratulations to Inter. We’d like it to be us, but we’re working for next season to ensure our success. There is still one match to go. We’re currently in second place, and we want to keep that position. We’re concentrating on the next few games. We always build a team to win,” the Rossoneri CEO told DAZN, as quoted by Milannews.
