Announced as the future coach of Napoli, Vincenzo Italiano will not be joining the Azzurri. The Italian coach held a meeting today with the Fiorentina board, who confirmed his appointment.
Despite Fiorentina’s loss to West Ham United in the Europa League final, the Viola’s directors have no intention of parting company with their coach. At today’s meeting, Joe Barone, the club’s Managing Director, reiterated his confidence in his coach. The latter will remain at the club at least until 2024. This closes the door for Napoli, who had put the former La Spezia man on the list of candidates to fill the vacancy left by Luciano Spalletti.
