Victor Osimhen has guided Napoli to the last 16 of the Champions League, and his agent Roberto Calenda is ready for another meeting with the club.
The 24-year-old Nigerian striker was named African Footballer of the Year on Monday at a ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco, and was immediately back in action for his club. His contract with the club expires in 18 months, but Aurelio De Laurentiis recently declared that a new agreement had been almost fully concluded. As Corriere dello Sport reports via TMW, Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, was in the stands at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to watch Napoli’s victory over Braga, and is now expected to meet with De Laurentiis. The meeting could be a key step towards extending the Nigerian striker’s contract, which has still not been finalized despite the Napoli president’s assertions earlier this month. Osimhen could attract interest in the January transfer window if his contract extension is not finalized before next month, currently being the most exciting centre-forward available on the transfer market.
