UEFA has appointed Polish referee Szymon Marciniak to officiate the match between Manchester City and Inter in the UEFA Champions League final. Marciniak’s credibility was called into question when he was involved in a far-right demonstration. However, the European body confirmed the judge. The judge also apologized, claiming that he was unaware of the extremist nature of the event.

“I’hope that this statement will reach all interested parties, especially those who are rightly alarmed and disappointed by my participation in the “Everest” event organized in Katowice on May 29, 2023. I would like to express my sincerest apologies for my involvement and any inconvenience or prejudice it may have caused,” wrote the Polish referee.
