AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega may have to undergo surgery after sustaining an injury in the first half of the win over Monza.
The 24-year-old was forced off the pitch in the 24th minute of the Rossoneri’s 3-0 win over the Biancorossi. Replaced by young defender Jan-Carlo Simic on Sunday afternoon. AC Milan have faced a long list of muscular injuries this season, losing players such as Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw, Rafael Leao and Ruben Loftus-Cheek at various times in recent months. Some fans have pointed the finger at coach Stefano Pioli and the club’s medical staff. As reported by Calciomercato.com, Pobega has suffered damage to the tendons of his right femoral muscle in his left leg, a worrying injury which will be the subject of further tests next week. He is likely to require surgery, which would keep him out of action for weeks to come.
