Inter director Beppe Marotta reveals that he will soon sit down to discuss Simone Inzaghi’s contract extension and confirms two “unofficial” signings, insisting that no player has asked to leave this summer.

The Nerazzurri director spoke to journalists at an event organized by Il Foglio newspaper at AC Milan on Wednesday. Inter have just become Serie A champions for the 20th time, so the journalists asked Marotta to explain the next steps and what fans should expect in the summer transfer window. “We recognize Simone Inzaghi’s important role at the club. You can’t win on the pitch when the club isn’t solid. We want to continue this evolutionary process, but we don’t want any revolutions. Of course, Inzaghi is not in question. We will sit down to extend his contract, following Zhang’s instructions. We won’t be making any revolutions, but we will look at the goal of sustainability that must characterize all Italian clubs’winning models and try to achieve more. In soccer, there are no unsellable players. Clubs are no longer in control, it all depends on the players. However, I can say that all our players have expressed the desire to continue with us because, don’t forget, we are Inter, one of the best teams in Europe. We will do the best we can, as we have always done. Unofficially, we’ve already made two signings, Taremi and Zielinski, so we’ll be working to improve a team that’s already really strong,” declared Marotta.
