Nicolo Zaniolo is set to join Aston Villa on loan from Galatasaray in a deal that includes an option to buy for the Midlands outfit.
Initially reported by SportItalia, later confirmed by several media, including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Fabrizio Romano, the English club will pay Galatasaray a loan fee of 4 million euros for the season. Unai Emery’s team will retain the right to make the move permanent for a total of 27 million euros, made up of 20 million euros plus 7 million euros in additional costs. This would bring the total to 31 million euros, not far off the 35 million euro release clause currently included in his contract with the Turkish giants. Romano reports that the Italian international could be booked for a medical in England on Wednesday.
