Francesco Totti has suggested that “it would be easier” to convince Jose Mourinho to stay at Roma if it were up to him. Much has been written about the 60-year-old Portuguese coach’s future in recent months, with reports linking him to various jobs with the Brazilian and Portuguese national teams at Paris Saint-Germain.

Mourinho has had a successful first season with Roma, guiding them to their first ever major European title in the Europa Conference League, and could take them to the Europa League final this season. Despite this, there are rumors that he is unsure about the future of the project in Rome. Speaking at the Internazionali d’Italia tennis tournament in Rome, Totti was first asked about how Roma could convince Mourinho to stay. “If it depended on me, it would be easier, let’s see what happens. I don’t know what they said with the club, and I don’t know what will happen. They will decide the best solution,” said Francesco Totti. Despite recent reports that PSG are lobbying to appoint Mourinho this summer, the Portuguese coach recently claimed that he has had no contact with the Ligue 1 giants.
