Rudi Garcia’s return to Italy is far from being a joy. With Napoli, the French coach has had a rollercoaster ride of results. The latest was the reigning Italian champions’1-0 home defeat by Empoli. A defeat that seems to have been too much. As he waits for a miracle to keep him at the helm of the club, the former Al-Nassr man comes clean.

After the defeat, Rudi Garcia didn’t make much of a speech in the dressing room. He evoked just two phrases to signify many things. “It’s not your fault, it’s only my fault this defeat and this situation,” Rudi told his colts and staff. Sad phrases that sounded like a farewell. If that was all, Rudi Garcia would have spent exactly 150 days at the helm of Napoli. He was announced on June 16, 2023 in a tweet from the club. His record after 16 matches in all competitions is eight wins, four draws and four defeats.
