Wojciech Szczesny has less than 18 months left on his contract with Juventus and if he were to leave this summer, his place could be taken by current substitute Mattia Perin.

The 32-year-old Polish keeper performed well at the World Cup in Qatar and has looked strong for the Bianconeri this season, being reliable and consistent between the sticks in Turin. With just over a year left on his contract with Juventus, Szczesny could soon be on his way out, with rumors hinting at a possible move to the Premier League. Calciomercato.com has highlighted how Juventus could decide to sell Szczesny in the summer transfer window. The club is unable to offer him a new contract that matches his net salary of 6.5 million euros per season.

If he left, Juventus could promote Perin in his place. The 30-year-old Italian has done well when needed this season, keeping five clean sheets in eight league games this season, and has even received support from legendary stopper Dino Zoff. Speaking recently, the 1982 World Cup winner said he “wouldn’t sign anyone. We already have a home goalkeeper like Perin, who is in his prime and always impeccable when called upon. If Szczesny were to leave, I would bet on him.
