Napoli are currently 5th in Serie A with just 7 points from 4 games. A situation unworthy of the Scudetto holders. But for Walter Sabatini, Rudi Garcia needs time to build his team. He is confident that things will turn around for the Azzurri.

“I think it’s exaggerated. It’s discouraging, we must give the coaches time to express their knowledge. They need to know the real psychology of the players. The important thing is to get into the spirit of the group. Psychologically, then, Napoli are also suffering from Inter’s triumphant march. A team used to winning all the time and now five points off the pace is starting to suffer. But I have every reason to believe that things will turn around,” the former Roma sporting director told Il Mattino.

He went on to say that the race for the Scudetto was not in jeopardy. He is aware of Inter’s clean sheet, but believes that anything is possible for Napoli. “Absolutely, apart from Inter who have moved up a gear, Napoli will score the points they need to score. The Azzurri have to fight for the Scudetto. They have a moral obligation, because it’s stitched on the jersey. They may not win it with a few points to spare, but the Scudetto doesn’t come off the Azzurri jersey so easily,” said Sabatini.
