Daniele De Rossi guided Roma to their fifth win in six games in their Monday night clash with Turin, impressing the Italian newspapers.

The 2006 World Cup winner took up his post in the Italian capital last month after the sacking of José Mourinho, giving him his first real chance after a brief spell at SPAL. De Rossi has shone at the helm of Roma so far, suffering just one defeat to league leaders Inter, and his impressive work continued as the Giallorossi beat Torino 3-2 on Monday evening. The result moved them up to sixth place in the table, just four points behind fourth-placed Bologna. Corriere dello Sport highlighted the former midfielder’s intelligent preparation for the match and touching scenes with hat-trick scorer Paulo Dybala. La Gazzetta dello Sport was a little less impressed with De Rossi’s work, suggesting that Dybala got him and Roma out of trouble, commenting: “Everything changes and reflects. It seems a risky choice, because Roma suffer by developing from the back. And then Dybala gives them a helping hand”. Tuttosport was more forgiving of De Rossi and Roma’s work during their victory over Turin, commenting: “With him on the bench, Roma are moving towards Europe and have won five league games and lost one. His arrival is bearing fruit”.
