Reigning European champions Italy have returned to their Euro-2024 base camp in Iserlohn, near Dortmund.

As FIGC reported, around 100 fans waited for the Azzurri in Dortmund, while others welcomed them in Iserlohn after a 30-minute drive from Dortmund airport. Italy will make their Euro 2024 debut on Saturday June 15 against Albania at Dortmund’s BVB stadium. The Azzurri have been drawn in the “group of death”, which also includes Spain and Croatia. Although the Azzurri are the reigning European champions, they have failed to qualify for the World Cup for two editions in a row. Their coach, Luciano Spalletti, took over the reins in August 2023 following the departure of Roberto Mancini. The Azzurri have won five out of eight games under their new coach, drawing two and losing one.
