Italy lost 3-1 to England yesterday in Euro 2024 qualifying. At the end of the match, Luciano Spalletti, coach of the Squadra Azzurra, appreciated the behavior of his players. However, he felt there was a lack of aggression in the game.

“It’s a shame, the match was up to scratch. We played a great game, we just lacked a bit of aggression up front. Individually, we’re strong, we played with everyone, we just need to be more convinced of ourselves and show who we are,” began the Tuscan coach. He then admitted that the team had started something new, and that they needed to do better to achieve their objectives. “We have started something new, but now we have to win to go to the European Championship. We have to do better than we did today, we have everything, and it’s a shame we’re already in the home straight of qualifying. I’m confident, but we need to do better&#8230”, concluded Spalletti.
