Yann Sommer, Switzerland’s goalkeeper with Inter, spoke about the Round of 16 clash between the Nati and Italy. When asked about the strategy to counter the Italian attack, he revealed that his team had worked hard to annihilate the Squadra Azzurra’s attacking instincts.

Italy and Switzerland will play the first match of the round of 16 at Euro 2024. On the sidelines of the match, Yann Sommer revealed that Switzerland have been preparing to counter the Italian forwards, particularly Retegui and Scamacca. “We’ve prepared for all the Italian forwards, I know them all. The two of them (Retegui and Scamacca, editor’s note) are top-quality players who are very good finishers. We’ll have to be ready to face them,” declared Yann Sommer at the pre-match press conference.
