In the wake of recent poor results in Serie A, Milan AC directors are reportedly questioning Stefano Pioli’s future.
The Pink Book claims that Pioli could be sacked after Friday’s disappointing draw with Salernitana. The Rossoneri haven’t won an away Serie A match in three months and are eight points behind league leaders Inter, but their city rivals have a game in hand.
According to La Gazzetta, Milan’s directors are disappointed not only by the results but also by the numerous injuries suffered by the players this season, and the club’s directors believe that Pioli and his staff have a share of the responsibility. The pink newspaper claims that the coach’s post-match interview on Friday was not appreciated by the club either, as Pioli seemed too submissive. Journalist Luca Bianchin reports that AC Milan directors and owner Gerry Cardinale are now considering the next steps. It is thought that the players’opinion on Pioli’s future will also be heard. “Cardinale’s final decision could go either way,” wrote La Gazzetta.
