Stefano Pioli is no longer coach of AC Milan. The decision has already been made official. He bid farewell to the Milan fans on Sunday, at the end of the final match of the season against Salernitana. After five seasons at the helm of the Rossoneri, the Italian is stepping down, and has left a few clues as to his future.
The 58-year-old doesn’t yet seem ready to project his future as a coach. “I’m hoping to meet people who will make me understand that I can build and achieve a special journey, like here,” he told Sky Sport microphones after the 3-3 home draw with Salernitana. “I’d like to recapture that feeling I experienced here. It means having ambitions and being able to manage a team. For the moment, I don’t know anything. I’m too attached to the club to think about anything else. We’ll see in the next few days. I thought I’d arrive at the end of the season more tired, but for the moment, I don’t feel tired. We’ll see,” he continued. The Italian is therefore not ready to embark on a new challenge.
