In a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, former Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni expressed his optimism about the Italian team’s prospects at the European Championship, particularly praising the work of current coach Luciano Spalletti.

“Spalletti arrived in a very difficult situation,” said Stramaccioni. “The coach is one of the best in our recent club history, and he knows only one path: that of hard work and quality of play. Despite only a few months and 11 games, I can see progress. After the brilliant match against Albania, we had a slip-up because we didn’t play Spalletti soccer.” Italy have had their ups and downs in this tournament, but Stramaccioni remains confident: “We have the best possible helmsman. There is a time to sow and a time to reap. In a tough group, a point against Croatia would be enough. I’m convinced we’ll go through and play with our heads held high in the Round of 16.” Stramaccioni stressed the importance of consistency and the application of Spalletti’s style of play to achieve their goals in this high-level European tournament.
