At a press conference yesterday, Luciano Spalletti made no bones about the style of play he would like to see Italy adopt.
“At the Euros, I asked them to defend with 4 and build with 3, and to change clothes during the match. That was a mistake. From now on, I want to remove this doubt: we’ll always play in 352 or 3421. Up front, we’ll be a little freer to interpret the qualities we have.”
According to Corriere dello Sport, the defense against the French team is likely to consist of Di Lorenzo on the right, Calafiori on the left and Buongiorno or Bastoni in the center. The latter, who suffered a minor muscle strain with Inter, could be rested and play in the following match against Israel.
