Ivano Bordon, former Inter goalkeeper and 1986 world champion, gave an interview to Tuttosport in which he drew a comparison between Onana and Yann Sommer. The Italian believes that the Nerazzurri have made a good move, replacing the Cameroonian with the Swiss.
“In my opinion, yes, because Sommer is better between the posts, while Onana is better with his feet. From an economic point of view, the Nerazzurri gained a lot from the player’s transfer to Manchester United, given that the Cameroonian was sold for over 50 million euros when he was taken from zero at Ajax. However, I don’t want to say anything bad about Onana, on the contrary, he continued to improve, both in his personality and in the way he managed the team’s game,” declared Ivano Bordon.
