Gabriele Gravina, President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), responded to the criticism levelled at him at the end of the CONI National Committee meeting, speaking to ANSA. The Italian said that the FIGC had fared as well as possible under his reign. He recalled some of the progress made under his tenure.
“Over the last five years, this federation has been the most efficient since the FIGC’s existence, without offending its predecessors. I hear talk of a lack of results, but of course we like to focus on the negative. I accept criticism because it makes us grow, but it has to be fair. After 60 years, we’ve won the European Championship, after 20 years the European Under-19 Championship, runner-up in the Under-20 World Cup, European beach soccer champion, third place in the Nations League and won Euro 2032,” said Gabriele Gravina.
