Here are the best French players on Matchday 3 of Serie A, as rated and commented by La Gazzetta dello Sport. This is exactly the same trio as on Matchday 2.
Marcus Thuram – Inter (8)
A show of varied artistry, between the provoked csc, the hit post and the fox double. Marcus is becoming more and more of a goalscoring apprentice.
Ange-Yoan Bonny – Parma (7)
First he hit the post and then he converted the penalty without hesitation. His technique is an additional weapon in his coach’s plans. He does a lot of undermining, which wears him out, and is replaced.
Benjamin Pavard – Inter (7)
Deschamps doesn’t call him up and what does Benji do? Indignant, he went up front: he played very high up the pitch and was involved in the first and second goals.
They deserve a mention
Several players scored 6.5, including Adli (Fiorentina), Oudin and Pierret (Lecce), Belahyane (Hellas), Dembélé (Torino) and Da Cunha (Como).
