A few days ago, Nicolo Zaniolo and Sandro Tonali faced Italian justice following illegal betting. As a result, both players were disqualified from the Squadra Azzurra’s matches during the international break. The penalty for the Newcastle United midfielder has now been imposed. He risks little more than a course of therapy to cure his gambling addiction.
In today’s edition, Corriere della Sera reports that Sandro Tonali was reunited with his family in Milan after leaving the national team. He confided that his involvement in betting was just a hobby. There was therefore no ill intent. Prosecutors then suggested that the Italian undergo therapy to put an end to his gambling addiction. He has the support of his club in this difficult ordeal.
