Andrea Pirlo has recently become Sampdoria’s new coach. The former Juventus coach has signed a two-year contract with Sampdoria. Despite the Genoa club’s relegation to Serie B this season, the former Italian international still believes they are a great team.
“For me, Sampdoria is a great opportunity, because I consider it a great team for its fans, for what it’s been,” Andrea Pirlo shared. “Being a footballer is one thing. Being a coach is another. They are two completely different jobs,” insisted the 2006 world champion at a press conference. When I started in this profession, I was lucky enough to start at the highest level. But that wasn’t my initial objective, because generally speaking, you start at the bottom and work your way up. I had this chance, which was a little hasty,” continued the Italian legend.
