Napoli boss Rudi Garcia is delighted to meet Real Madrid in the Champions League group stage, especially as Roma sacked him before meeting the Merengues in 2016.
The French tactician spoke at a press conference on the eve of a Serie A clash with Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio at the Stadio Maradona. Garcia’s Napoli have been drawn alongside Real Madrid, Braga and Leonardo Bonucci’s Union Berlin in the Champions League group stage, and today’s first question concerned the draw, which took place on Thursday. “It could have been better, but it could have been worse. Real Madrid are among the best clubs in the world, but I’m even happier to meet them given what happened in 2015-2016 when I qualified for the Champions League’Round of 16, but I didn’t get the chance to face them,” said the Frenchman.
