Napoli has announced that central defender Amir Rrahmani has signed a new long-term contract extension, binding him to the Partenopei until the summer of 2027, with the option of a further year also included.

The 29-year-old has been a mainstay of Napoli’s defense under Luciano Spalletti this season, recording 27 Serie A appearances throughout 2022-23, which would have been a higher figure were it not for the abductor’s injury, which ruled him out for six games before the World Cup break in November. Rrahmani’s contract was due to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season, but after helping Napoli win their first Scudetto in 33 years, he has been rewarded with securing his long-term future. The news of Rrahmani’s commitment to Napoli will come as a particular relief to the club, given reports that his central defensive partner Kim Min-jae could leave for the Premier League before the start of next season.
