Roma have reportedly approached former AC Milan sporting director Frédéric Massara to replace Tiago Pinto.
A complete overhaul is underway at the Trigoria training ground following José Mourinho’s sacking and Tiago Pinto’s decision to step down as soon as the January transfer window closes. According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto and Calciomercato.com, important discussions have taken place with Massara to take over as sporting director. Like new interim coach Daniele De Rossi, Massara is by no means a stranger to Roma, having worked here from 2011 to 2019 in a variety of roles. He also gets on well with De Rossi, which would help facilitate this reunion. Massara spent four years at AC Milan as sports director, working closely with Paolo Maldini, and his contract was terminated by mutual agreement in June 2023, just days after Maldini was sacked. The 55-year-old has also worked in soccer at Benevento, Pescara, Martina and Palermo, having been a player until 2003.
