The Giallorossi will not activate their €15 million option to buy Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanches, who will return to the French capital at the end of June after a disappointing spell at the Stadio Olimpico in 2023-24.
The former Benfica and Bayern Munich midfielder joined the Giallorossi last summer on loan with an option to buy, which would have become compulsory if certain conditions had been met. However, he made just seven Serie A appearances this term, plus a further five in the Europa League, for a total of 260 minutes. That’s an average of just over 21 minutes per competitive appearance. According to Fabrizio Romano’s updates, PSG will now look to advance Renato Sanches during the summer transfer window. The Parisians had paid a fee of 10 million euros plus 3 million euros in bonuses to acquire his services from Lille in August 2022. Renato Sanches signed a five-year contract at the time, which means he has three years left on his contract until it expires in the summer of 2027.
