Inter left-back Federico Dimarco insists that qualifying for the Euro is an “obligation” for Italy.

Dimarco was interviewed by Rai Sport on Saturday, following the Azzurri’s 5-2 victory over Northern Macedonia at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday evening. Italy, second in Group C of the Euro 2024 qualifiers, now need just a point from their final match against Ukraine on Monday evening to guarantee their place in the summer finals. Dimarco told Rai, reported via Gianluca Di Marzio, that the team still had to be wary of Ukraine, who would qualify at Italy’s expense if they won on Monday. “All matches at international level are difficult, but maybe you can surprise a team that’s having a bad day. But Ukraine is a strong national team and we have to be careful at every moment of the match. I think qualifying for the Euro is almost an obligation. Italy won the last one and the fans are demanding that we qualify again,” declared the Italian.
