Daniele Longo suggests that Lazio will begin negotiations with Napoli this week to reach an agreement for midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
The 29-year-old Pole’s current contract expires with the Partenopei in 2024 and negotiations over a new deal have been underway for a few weeks now. Zielinski had hoped to increase his salary from 3.8 million euros net to 4.5 million euros net per season, but Aurelio De Laurentiis was less enthusiastic about the idea. The Napoli president proposed spreading the figure over several years, disappointing Zielinski and prompting him to reflect on his future. Maurizio Sarri has already sounded out a possible move to Lazio with the midfielder, who would be happy to work with the Italian tactician again. Calciomercato.com’s Longo details how Lazio president Claudio Lotito is considering offering Zielinski around €20 million and will contact De Laurentiis in the next few days to start discussing a possible deal.
