Simone Inzaghi reveals that Emil Audero and Alexis Sanchez will start for Inter against Benfica, warning that “the job isn’t finished yet” in the Champions League.
While the Nerazzurri have already booked their place in the Round of 16 and Benfica are out of the running, first place and the all-important leadership still remain to be decided. Inter and Real Sociedad both have 10 points, RB Salzburg 3 and Benfica 0. We’ve already spoken to the lads, we’re here in Portugal to play an important game, with the great satisfaction of having qualified for the last 16 with two games to go. However, our work isn’t done yet, there’s first place to be earned and we have to play well against Benfica. It’s the fourth time we’ve played Benfica in six months, but it’ll be even more difficult on their own turf, because the crowd really pushes them. They have quality, and can play with two physical strikers, or Rafa behind the centre-forward. I have great respect for the team and the coach, as they reached the quarter-finals last season. We are Inter and our aim is to win everything. At the same time, we know we have responsibilities and want to make our fans happy with trophies,” declared Inzaghi.
