It was up in the air, but now it’s official. The Italian Football Federation has appointed Luciano Spalletti as Italy’s new coach. He replaces Roberto Mancini, who recently resigned.
Luciano Spalletti has been entrusted with the future of the Squadra Azzurra. In an official press release, the FIGC announced the appointment of the Tuscan coach. He will officially take up his post on September 1, 2023. “The Italian Football Federation announces that it has reached an agreement with Luciano Spalletti for the position of coach of the Italian national team. The Tuscan coach will take up the post on September 1, 2023, and the official presentation will take place during the Azzurri Rally, scheduled for the first few days of September, at the Coverciano Federal Technical Center,” read the statement issued by Italian soccer’s governing body.
