Nicolo Barella is negotiating a new contract with Inter, and has reportedly agreed terms after weeks of talks.
The 27-year-old Italian midfielder has continued to shine for Simone Inzaghi’s side this season, scoring two goals and providing six assists in 29 league games. In the final stages of last year’s summer transfer window, Manchester City approached Inter to officially request information on Barella and his position on the market. The 27-year-old put an end to the idea of leaving the Lombardy capital. Pasquale Guarro of Calciomercato.com details how Inter have been in talks with Barella and his entourage since their Supercoppa Italiana commitments in January, and negotiations have continued to progress in recent weeks. The Italian midfielder has reached a verbal agreement regarding a new deal with the Nerazzurri, and things will now conclude over the coming weeks, with the 27-year-old keen to move forward with the club following Manchester City’s interest last summer.
