Inter are preparing for an important match against Walter Mazzarri’s Napoli, and are still unable to count on Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni.
The Nerazzurri hold just a two-point lead over rivals Juventus heading into the 14th matchday of the season, having failed to take a decisive lead following their 1-1 draw in the Derby d’Italia last weekend. Simone Inzaghi rotated his Inter squad for the Champions League draw with Benfica, fully aware of the importance of their clash with Napoli, who seem to have found a new lease of life after the sacking of Rudi Garcia and the arrival of Mazzarri. As TMW reports, Bastoni is still recovering from the calf injury he sustained during the Italian training camp and will not be available for Inter’s next match against Napoli. He will be gradually reintroduced to the pitch over the next few days and will probably be in the squad to face Udinese on December 9. Pavard recently removed his knee brace and started running again, showing positive signs. It will be around three weeks before he is back in the team, and it is hoped that he will be fit to face Lecce on December 23.
