As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, Gigi Buffon has set a new record in his endless career. Since last night Buffon is the oldest player in history to have trampled San Siro in an official match: at 44 years, 11 months and 18 days.
He has surpassed the other grandfather, Marco Ballotta, who played at 44 years and 13 days in a Inter–Lazio 0-0 on April 16, 2008 in the Italian Cup semi-final. Buffon should celebrate his 45th birthday on the field, during a Cosenza-Parme next January 28.
