Leonardo Bonucci’s adventure in Italy comes to an end today. After 12 seasons with Juventus, the defender will be leaving the Piedmont-based club. Rumored to be moving to Lazio and Genoa, the defender has decided to change his allegiances. He has just flown to Germany to sign for Union Berlin.
Leonardo Bonucci is about to discover another championship. Unwanted by Juventus after twelve years and over 500 appearances, he has decided to look elsewhere. While he had been approached in Italy by Lazio and Genoa, he opted instead for Union Berlin, who will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season. He will sign a definitive contract with the German outfit in the next few hours. It should be pointed out that he is leaving for free, although he still had one year left on his contract in Italy. Juventus have even agreed to pay part of his salary.
