Napoli have reportedly rekindled their interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta as they look for a replacement for Victor Osimhen.
The Partenopei are ready to sell the Nigerian star this summer, a deal that will see them earn around 120-130 million euros, and have started planning their transfer market, wanting to rejuvenate the team after their poor 2023-24 season. As L’Equipe reported, Napoli have identified Crystal Palace’s Mateta as an interesting candidate to replace Osimhen in the summer, and could make contact with the Premier League club in the near future to begin exploring a summer contract. The 26-year-old Frenchman, who was targeted by the Partenopei in 2020 before they took Osimhen, has been excellent this season, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 34 league games, shining under new coach Oliver Glasner.
