Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s next sporting director, met with the entourage of Lille striker Jonathan David last week to discuss the details of a possible summer transfer.

The Partenopei are ready to sell Victor Osimhen and cash in on his release clause of around 130 million euros, a hefty fee that will allow them to revolutionize the team. The club has yet to appoint a new long-term head coach either, linked to options such as Antonio Conte, Stefano Pioli and Gian Piero Gasperini. He has just over a year left on his contract with Lille and looks likely to leave in the summer. He has regularly been linked with a move to Serie A, with potential suitors including Napoli and AC Milan. As reported by TMW, Napoli’s imminent sporting director, Manna, met David’s entourage at AC Milan last week to discuss the details of a possible summer deal. There, it was made clear that the Canadian striker would like a five-year contract worth around €3 million net per season, plus add-ons. The 24-year-old is happy with the idea and likes the project in the Campania capital, leaving the ball in their court. In January, the Ligue 1 team wanted around 35 to 40 million euros, a fee that has now risen to around 50 million euros, which Napoli want to bring down to 35 million euros plus add-ons.
