Napoli are just one step away from securing a deal for Benfica winger David Neres as they work on the final details.

Partenopei’s summer transfer market has been a little muted as they haven’t yet been able to close the sale of Victor Osimhen, with no club willing to pay his 130 million euro release clause. Paris Saint-Germain have been the most serious suitors and could soon return to the fray. Napoli have managed to secure reinforcements for Antonio Conte’s team, however, signing Alessandro Buongiorno from Turin, Rafa Marin from Real Madrid and Leonardo Spinazzola and Matija Popovic on free transfers. According to Corriere dello Sport Napoli are close to finalizing a move for David Neres after accepting the terms of his contract. His agent Giuliano Bertolucci met sporting director Giovanni Manna in Rome on Wednesday, where an agreement was reached. The Partenopei are now working to conclude the deal with Benfica, ready to pay a fixed fee of €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
