Jonathan David has agreed to join Napoli this summer, allowing them to take a step forward in the race with AC Milan.
The 24-year-old Canadian striker has just over a year with the Ligue 1 side and is expected to be sold in the summer, keen for a new adventure after four years in France. Last week, his entourage met Napoli’s next sporting director, Giovanni Manna. David didn’t just attract Napoli’s attention, as AC Milan are also keen to lure the striker, needing to strengthen their front line in the summer as Olivier Giroud looks to head to MLS. According to Calciomercato.com, David has agreed a five-year contract with Napoli worth around €3 million net per season following their recent meeting, allowing the Partenopei to take a step forward in their pursuit of the striker. An agreement has yet to be reached with Lille, who want around 45 million euros, 10 million more than the Italian team’s current offer.
