Torino central defender Alessandro Buongiorno has reportedly agreed to join Napoli this summer, largely thanks to new Partenopei coach Antonio Conte, suggest the Italian press.
Napoli and Torino agreed a deal worth 35 million euros upfront plus a further 5 million euros in bonuses earlier this week. Napoli and Buongiorno have also reportedly agreed to the inclusion of a €70 million release clause in the contract, which should become valid after three years in Campania. Corriere dello Sport reports that Buongiorno has now given his word to Napoli for a transfer this summer, and the Italian outlet also reports that Conte’s involvement was crucial in securing an agreement. Buongiorno and Conte spoke directly, and the former Juventus, Inter and Italy coach convinced the Azzurri international to become one of his key players at Napoli.
